Playing with Masks – Mountains and skies!

Playing with Masks – Mountains and skies!

Its a chilly but bright lunchtime here, how is it in your part of the world?

I recently made some stencils & masks and thought i would share them with you. With a little example of them in use.
I had great fun playing 🙂
Here’s the first one, its a cloud mask.
cloud mask set up
I used Tumbled Glass distress ink, along with a round blender tool and the cloud mask to create an easy and simple sky!
cloud mask process
Starting at the top and working downwards, just simply place the mask across your piece of card/paper and sweep the blender tool off the mask onto the card. Do this all the way along and then move the mask down and across slightly to either side and repeat. Repeat this process until you get the bottom. And voila, a perfect cloudy sky!

What width backgrounds/cards do you normally create? What length of cloud mask would be ideal for your projects? I can’t wait to use this to create a great and simple to do background for some of my handmade cards.
Here is another background from one of the mask sets, this one has created a mountain scene background. It still needs a bit of adjustment to make it easier to layer, so once this is done I will share the process with you for creating this background.

Pop back tomorrow for a share of the two stencils I created and how they turned out!
