Pinata Alcohol Ink
Studio Light Ocean View Dies, Papers and Stamps

Alcohol Lifting Ink

I have been so busy this Summer that I haven’t had time to get to the beach myself so I have been scratching that itch in my crafting instead. Sam’s recent sea themed release of mdf has been just perfect for that.
Today I am sharing a card I made with one of the smaller elements- the baby turtle. He’s so cute! I treated myself a while ago to some ocean themed stamps, dies and papers from Studio Light, and they complimented him perfectly.
Here’s what I did.

Step one:
Create an alcohol ink background on Yupo paper. When dry, use alcohol lift ink and a bubble stamp to take away some of the ink.

Step 2:
Die cut a sea frame using studio light dies and paper and paint the turtle in acrylic paint. Trim the background to match the frame.

Step 3:
Use a thin layer of acrylic paint to stamp seaweed and build a scene.

Step 4:
I got carried away here and forgot to take more pictures. but I die cut and inked fish and other sea elements and used them to build up a scene before mat and layering onto a finished card.

The sea elements are just perfect for so many projects from larger mixed media pieces to cards. And when you mix them with other things you have in your stash, such as matching papers, the possibilities really are endless!
